Uniform and Equipment

The Timmins Marlins Swim Club has an equipment room that serves the Marlin swim families. It is run by Kathy Rideout. Kathy will be available as much as possible in order for you to purchase swim suits, goggles, etc. I will have my availability posted on the equipment room, which is located upstairs at the pool. If you would like to email me, my address is rideoutk@northern.on.ca .

We can order in most items required by a swimmer in the course of a season. Our goal is not to make money but rather to be able to offer reduced pricing through purchasing directly from a supplier yet still cover our costs. This often means that for certain items like bathing suits we do not carry a large stock but rather order these items as needed. Within the first two weeks of the swim season, an order will be going in so please contact me if you need something. There is not a fixed time for ordering equipment but rather an order goes in when it is large enough to cover the shipping costs. A restocking fee may apply if an item is returned unused within 30 days of purchase.

Swimmers will need a practice suit and goggles. Bathing caps are optional both at practices and at swim meets. We will have a Team swim suit available this year for swim meets but as the catalogue from our supplier is not available yet, nothing has been decided so far.

For swim meets, swimmers are required to wear TMSC clothing on deck and if they use a bathing cap, then a TMSC cap. Caps are always available in the equipment room. We will be taking orders for clothing during registration. We will do another order of clothing in early November (in time for Christmas!) There maybe some other optional equipment that the coach will suggest to certain levels throughout the year and we will try and bring these items in on an as-needed basis

Please note that there have been recent changes to what Swim Canada and Swim Ontario is going to allow for competition suit. If you are contemplating purchasing a new competition suit, please talk to Tracy McCartney or or the equipment manager before making your purchase as all suits that you can buy are not all allowed at swim meets.
