Levels

Text Box: There are three levels that swimmers will progress through, each level is also divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  Swimmers must perform the technique/skill faultlessly 3 times before it is considered achieved.  Once a swimmer has completed all the skills within their level, he/she moves up to the next level.

This level is only open to siblings of swimmers of higher levels. 

It is a learn-to-swim class with instructions coming from the city of Timmins Aquatic Program. 

A level one swimmer will accomplish the following skills/techniques:

 

Level 2 introduces the basics of stroke development.

A level 2 swimmer will accomplish the following skills/techniques:

 

Level 3 refines the strokes learned in level 2 and introduces some endurance to the swimmers ability.

A level 3 swimmer will accomplish the following skills/ techniques:

Wednesdays and

5:30 to 6:00

Or

6:00 to 6:30

Get face wet

Submerge and exhale

Rhythmic Breathing (3)

Move water with hands

Front float assisted & unassisted

Back float assisted & unassisted

Front kick with noodle 10m

Back kick with noodle 10m

Back glide hands at side 3m

Endurance swim on front and back 5m

Jump into water

Tread water 30 seconds

Rhythmic Breathings (6)

One arm freestyle

Hip Scull

Dolphin & Side kick 10m

Streamline no kick

Freestyle & Back crawl kick 15m

Front and Back crawl 10m

Endurance Swim on front & back 10m

5:30 to 6:15

The FOSC runs three sessions throughout the year.
